Pagans for Charity!

Charity is something we could all do a little more of. Even in today's ecomonic climate, if you're reading this right now you probably have more than a vast majority of the world's population. We're genuinely grateful for all we have, and hope we can give a little back to this blessed Mother Earth, and all of her children. In the spirit of Pagan Charity, RavensWell is committed to donating 15% of its net profits every month to a different charity. Charity types will include environmental, animal welfare, conservationist, and humanitarian.

If you know of a charity you think we'd like to donate to, please use our Contact Us form and let us know!

January 2010 - Project Hope

In the wilds of backwoods Mississippi lives an angel. Her name is Doll Stanley and she has single-handedly done more for animals in this state, than any human present or past. A miracle worker, an angel, a jewel of humanity, Doll has given her life to helping those who can't help themselves - and does in one of the toughest places in the country!

At any given time, more than 100 animals call Project Hope their home. To find out more about the 18 emus, 8 pigs, 22 cats, 6 horses, 2 donkeys, 2 rabbits, 2 gerbils, and 93 dogs currently receiving sanctuary, check out Doll's Project Hope blog by visiting IDA's home page and clicking on the Project Hope button.

October/November 2009 - Defenders of Wildlife Campaign to Save America's Wolves

America's wolves were nearly eradicated in the 20th century. Now, after a remarkable recovery in parts of the country, our wolves are once again in serious danger.

In Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies:
On March 6th, 2009, U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar approved the Bush Administration's discredited plan to eliminate Endangered Species Act protections for wolves in Idaho and Montana -- a decision that could lead to the deaths of more than 1,000 wolves!

May 2009 - The Conservation Fund

In their own words, "The Conservation Fund works to protect America’s land and water legacy for future generations. Central to our mission, we pursue land and water conservation. As a trusted real estate partner, we help government agencies, land trusts and nonprofit organizations acquire and conserve land for recreation, habitat, historic value and more. In addition to identifying and acquiring conservation property, we finance and structure such deals."

The Conservation Fund was given an A+ for work as an environmental charity group by the American Institute of Philanthropy.

Apr 2009 - Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest

An amazing story of seven chimps rescued from a closing biomedical research, this Washington state group is doing incredible work for seven chimps that spent decades being researched upon and bred. Each of the chimps stories is moving.

FOXIE, born 1976 in captivity.
Foxie is very curious and watchful, and is careful and deliberate in her movements. She can take a little while to warm up to new people, but is quite playful once she has decided to trust a person. Of her chimpanzee family, she spends the most time with Burrito. She and Burrito can often be found quietly grooming each other. Prior to her sanctuary life, Foxie was used in Hepatitis vaccine research and as a breeder for the biomedical research industry. Foxie had five babies during her years in biomedical research, including a set of twins. All of her children were taken away from her when they were very young - sometimes just days old. Foxie adopted a doll to care for at the sanctuary - a Troll doll with bright pink hair. Read Foxie's Story
